Every plumbing system in any household or commercial setting will eventually experience problems over time. It will have clogs or defective drainage systems. Accumulated grease, hair, soap, food, and other wastes will cause the clog and set the flow of fluids slower than usual. Not everyone of us have the patience and time to check our plumbing system in a regular basis causing the accumulation of wastes left unhandled. Some of us result first to home remedies for plumbing problems like this. There are various home remedies you could try for yourself to solve a defective pipe or drain.

Here are some of the natural household remedies you may use for your plumbing needs:

1. Use a Plunger

Pressing the plunger down with force to form a seal will somehow help create a vacuum and remove minor obstruction and clogs. This pumping system is done several times to remove clogs.

2. Use a Snake

This tool is a steel cable which has a spring. This is also a flexible and thin rod that can be extended down the drain of a sink, tub or toilet. This is used to remove occasional clogs and build ups to eliminate the minor obstruction.

3. Use Hot Water

This is probably one of the common household remedies to remove obstructions. Pouring hot water down the drain can clear minor clogs. After pouring, allow it to stand for 15 minutes then try using a plunger for better results.

4. Use Vinegar and Baking soda

Use a combination of 1:1 white vinegar and baking soda the pour it immediately into the drain for it to take effect. Then let it stand for about 10 to 15 minutes. After the allotted time of waiting, flush it with hot water for better results. This will also help in deodorizing your pipelines and drains. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that can remove stains and fungi that may cause undesirable odors. Just remember that it may cause some fizz to rise after combining these two products. Wear appropriate gloves when mixing and pouring this.

If these household items still don’t fix your plumbing problems, try consulting with a professional plumbing service within your area just like the Provo Plumber. Professional plumbers will usually inspect the problem area and you could also try asking them the condition of your whole plumbing system.
