Chiropractic method aims to correct misaligned structures and postures of our body. Just like any other parts of our body, the spine is a very delicate part and it could be damaged over time due to several factors. Constant back aches and stiffness are not normal and should be examined and relieved.

Chiropractic method works through a non-invasive procedure that can relieve the spine from any stress and irritation that causes the discomfort. As our spine develops, it is affected by the other systems in our body. In a broader view, the nervous system which includes the spine, brain and nerves, is very important to maintain balance to the whole body.

The integrity of your nervous system may be restored and improved through Chiropractic. The spine and surrounding nerves will be relieved from pain, stiffness, irritation, misalignments and compression. Posture will also be improved and the other organs of the body will have improved functioning because the nervous system is in good condition which enables send signals to the other nerves of the body the increase resistance to stress, illnesses and injuries.

Here are some procedures you could expect from a Chiropractor:

1. Adjustments/ Manipulation

There is a specific adjustment method that Chiropractors apply to the spine which has misaligned structures and is not functioning well. This reduces the subluxation. There is minor discomfort in this procedure especially when the patient is tensed during the manipulation but the relief is fast.

2. DTS Therapy

This is also known as Disc Decompression Therapy. This is a non- surgical therapy that provides relief to lower back, neck and lumbar pain. This is also suited for patients with symptoms associated with damaged or degenerative discs.

3. Therapeutic Exercise

Common therapeutic massages are: partial sit-up, knee to chest, hip roll, low back extension, cat- camel, back extension, superman, double lifts, etc.

4. Acupuncture

This is done by inserting small needles on the body wherein pressure points are located. This can also be applied with heat or electrical stimulation. This promotes healing and improves functioning of organs. Acupuncture, such as the Utah Acupuncture, is probably the most common and well- known alternative medicine today.

5. Electrical Muscle Stimulation

This is also known as “muscle stim.” Low levels of electrical impulses are applied to the injured or painful part of the body. The impulses are delivered to the tissues to relieve pain and discomforts.

6. Cryotherapy

An ice compress is applied to the skin surface. This aims to reduce the temperature of the underlying tissues causing the blood vessels to constrict and numb the painful areas. This procedure helps in reducing the nerve transmission of pain. This is a temporary relief.
